Different Roles = Different Views?

I like that way that the code readily assigns different roles to different AD groups.

Are the views of the tickets customizable so that custom views can be created by role/group?

As an example, can we set up a custom view where the low level technician can only see and/or access tickets that they created, were assigned to, etc?

Another example, can a custom view be set up for a specific user group or department, where a technician could only see tickets from that department?

That is how it is set up, if you give their group a lower level, they can only see their stuff+what they entered.  It is explained here:
