Installation Errors

I hit an error when AD setup page loads (http://localhost/setup/active_directory.aspx)

[IdentityNotMappedException: Some or all identity references could not be translated.]

I am sorry, but I have never seen that error before?  Are you running AD?  Is your domain controller set correctly in the settings?  Does the account that it is using have proper AD rights?

No, the server (nor the user) does not participate in any AD.  This error occurs before I am able to adjust any settings on this page.

Sorry, this program requires AD for most features.  I found this: 

IdentityNotMappedException is returned when a SecurityIdentifier can not be mapped, e.g when a SID can not be translated to an NT user. This is usually cauced by deleted users or no access to the domain controller who performs the translation.

Another thing you might try is changing the App Pool account in IIS

I changed the app pool account to NetworkService and that let me load the settings page at least.  Our DC/AD server is still in testing as well and we don't have access to them so maybe we should just try something else until those are in place.
