Make API for email ticket interaction

For the email parser i need this actions:- create new ticket + attachements- response to existing ticket + attachements
New ticketInputs - title- details - add attachments -> check if user exists in the db (email adress), if not check the active directory with the email adress an generate a new user profile in the dbReturn:- int (1 for success, -1 for error)there should be a log table on the db, where the system errors are logged- title- detail- creation dateResponse to exisiting ticketInputs - exisiting ticket id- title- details - add attachments
For that, the email subject should be in this format, because the parsing is simpler ;) [Ticket#2042] New Ticket here...Return:- true/false > booleanBut the tickets system needs more options/features:- a helpdesk user should be possible to be assigned to more then one group/sub-group- users should not see other tickets then the own- on a ticket should be possible to assign more then one helpdesk employee > and if all has closed his tast, the tickets closes ;)- users and Helpdesk profile should be different > helpdesk user can assig himself to other group/sub-groups etc...- users can only search and display own tickets- from ad it sould be readed the displayname, email (just displayed just on one field), phonenumber > it should allways the displayname instead the samAccountName > a propertie in the settings if the user can edit his profile or just viewForgotten any...i don't know ;)I'm now reading link to sql tutorials....P.S.I'm creating the email parser service on the web structure and can installed/uninstalled via a bat file ;)

  • For that attachmant stuff the IEnumerable<File> is OK.
  • the return type should be just a boolean.

I need a few more table fields...

for each sub group where i can enter the email adress i need additional this:
  • email adress (string)
  • pop3 password (string)
  • mail server adress (string)
  • pop3 port (int)
please add to the business layer a method that gets me the above information as a List<Mailbox> item list, only when a password, server and the port are given... the port can be pre filled with 110:

public class Mailbox
        public string Host { get; set; }
        public string EMailAdress { get; set; }
        public string User { get; set; }
        public string Password { get; set; }
        public int Port { get; set; }
Did you need any help?

I am thinking that we should seperate mailboxes into it's own table, linking it to the 'sub_unit' table, what do you think (I am adding some possible sql in the setup/setup_Data/add_mailboxes.sql).

I don't think I understand where you are going with this. Will each sub-unit have it's own mailbox? Can you just send tickets to a generic mailbox? Please explain exactly what you are looking to do so I can be of the most help.

Let's move the discussion here: http://slickticket.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=76862 because these work items do not format well or show up in my RSS feed correctly.

I have now added the EmailParser project to the solution, the DomainModel is not yet implemented in the service > my next to do ;)
I'm using this component http://sourceforge.net/projects/hpop/ for the POP3 stuff.
