Data base name

Mar 19, 2009 at 9:25 PM
Good ol Godaddy won't let me create a SQL db named SlickTicket. (says it is already used)
In the setup files, is there a place where can I change it to match my database name?
One more question, if I may.

Do I want DNS and ASP Schema in creating the SQL db?

Thanks in advance for any help you can supply.

You may be able to change the DB name, but that brings up the problem of the DBML and generated classes not matching up among others.

It really depends on your ability to work with the code.

If you do use a different DB name, you would have to modify the setup program to take that into account.  You would also have to regenerate the Linq-to-SQL dbml.  The best way would be to set it up on a local machine with a changed DB and get all yoru classes set up, then move it to your host.

In summary, all you really have to do is:
-build your other DB
-Modify the setup.sql file in the setup_data folder to use your new DB
-In Visual Studio, delete db.dbml frorm the App_Code folder.
-make a new db.dbml and drag your new tables in to it to generate your new classes
-now it should work?
